*phew*. Editing a magazine is kinda like riding a bike. Kinda. We’ve just finished off Atomic 82, the issue we, internally, call ‘the one Ben and Josh made in the month after Logan left, but the month before the new guy starts’.

It’s been nice to get my hands dirty with the mag again, even for just a month. Next week we’ll be introducing the new Editor to you all. He’ll be good. He was on the team when issue 1 of Atomic went onsale and get truly ‘gets’ what we’re all about. Those of you with very long memories may know him as ‘Hawkeye’…

Most of us are very very very happy about the long weekend. Make the most of it people. The good games are coming in, there’s loads to play.

We’ve been having a hard go at EA’s Skate. It’s a bloody triumph, even if you’re not a skater. Incredible fun, and a totally different experience to the Tony Hawk games. One could say it’s more ‘sim’, while Tony Hawk is ‘arcade’. But really, it’s simply that Skate is a generation ahead of old Tony. It shows in everything, but particularly the physics and motion capture. It’s a stunning thing to behold. Josh will have a review up next week.

I’m gonna try some Jericho and Empire Earth III. I’ve just downgraded my home monitor from a Dell 30 to a Dell 27. The 30 was incredible, but I found that even with a couple of 8800s the frames just weren’t flowing. A new mobo goes in next week, one with a bit more overclocking potential. All so I can be Crysis ready!

Have a great weekend all.

Ben
